The wings are formed from a single sheet of 18kt gold, chased and then hand-finished; no casting seam runs through the piece. Stones are set last, after the final polish, so the metal around them is never re-worked.
Emerald is softer than diamond and dislikes heat and detergent. Never clean these in an ultrasonic bath. Wipe gently with a dry cloth, keep them out of hot water, and bring them in for professional cleaning rather than soaking at home.
